mermaid pendant

calling all the ocean spirits! our mermaid pendant is calling for you to add her to your stack!! this piece features your choice of a baby blue or porcelain colored shell charm(handmade from porcelain, as always). our little shell is complimented with a chain made of white glass beads meant to emulate little pearls. each chain is 18 inches long accompanied with a 2 inch chair extender.

Our porcelain charms are handmade by Molly in her Missouri home. Every charm begins with porcelain that is rolled out, cut, cleaned by hand before going to the kiln for their bisque firing— a process that takes about 18 hours to heat up and then cool.

After that they are ready to be carefully glazed by hand and cleaned yet again, in preparation for their glaze firing. This second firing reaches 2232 degrees Fahrenheit, taking another 14 hours from start to finish. From there we select only the highest quality pieces to be turned into our jewelry. Each charm is crafted to their completion over a period of about 3-4 days, before they are ready to be shipped off to their new homes.
